Kelly Bignell is a self taught artist currently practicing with the medium of clay. Her work places value on functionality and simplicity. Every piece is made entirely by hand using a wheel thrown and/or coiling method. Kelly's work places emphasis on femininity and the beauty of naturally formed objects found in the ocean.
Each piece is designed and created in her home studio in Currumbin, QLD. She is currently exploring terracotta and porcelain and is always evolving methods and techniques, with interest in glaze colour and surface texture.
